And the Winner for the "Individual" Category at the 2022 ALTA ceremony is ...

On October 9th, I was awarded the American Legal Technology Award, Individual Category, for The Tech-Savvy Lawyer.Page Podcast! I knew I was a finalist, but I cannot tell you how shocked and humbled I was when I slowly began to realize I was going to be the winner!

The awards were created to "To hold up examples of excellence in creative innovation and technology in the legal industry for the purposes of (1) expanding our understanding of what is possible, (2) encouraging a virtuous cycle of improvement, and (3) creating a more just society".  There were 225 nominations for eight categories resulting in 24 finalists.  The category is nominated for "Individual" is defined as "an individual who has demonstrated success throughout their career in making a positive difference in the world as it relates to legal innovation."

I want to thank everyone involved with the awards ceremony –

My dinner table mate, Jeff, was nice enough to take a video of my acceptance speech with my iPhone 13 Plus Max.  Sorry for the quality of the video; it was last minute, and I was not expecting to win!  Also, this is my first attempt at video editing, e.g., editing the video to capture just me, intro, exit, and more.  Please forgive me if this is not the best - but give it time; I’m sure I’ll get better!  PS:  Can you see that I was wearing a yellow bowtie to match the blog?! 🙃

But mostly, I want to thank (besides my wife 😊) you, the listener.  I know there are a lot of you.  Please don’t be shy.  Say hello!  Feel free to suggest guests and articles.  Give a like on Apple Podcasts, on the blog, or wherever you get your podcast feed.  Love to hear from you!

Congratulations to all the finalists in all of the categories!  Win, Place, or Show - WE DID IT!!!

I hope you enjoy my acceptance speech! 🥳

Please keep listening to the podcast, share it with your friends and colleagues, and Happy Lawyering!!!

Thank you!!!

PS:  At the end of my speech, I did a special call out for Mental Health Awareness.  If you or someone you know needs help, please encourage them to seek help.  We do not need to lose more lives to this unseen demon.  Mental Health Crisis? Call *988.
