Update your Chrome Browser on your Android and Windows platforms now!

Lifehacker reports that Google issued a new security patch to its popular Chrome browser for its Android and Windows platforms. The vulnerability is publicly known. This means that nefarious actors can exploit it on the unsuspecting public. UPDATE YOUR BROWSERS NOW!

To update your devices, follow these instructions from Lifehacker:

Android: Go “… to the Google Play Store. Search for Google Chrome, then choose “Update” next to the app. If you have automatic updates enabled, the app may update on its own: If you only see an “Open” option, you’re all set.” The Android version is 103.0.5060.71.

Windows: “Click the three dots in the top-right corner of the browser window, then choose Help > About Google Chrome. Allow Chrome to look for a new update. If one is available, choose “Relaunch” to install the update to your browser.” The new Windows version is 103.0.5060.114.

Tip: If you are using a browser-based on Chrome, e.g., Brave, Chromium, inter alia., you should update those too! Since they are based on the same platform as Chrome, they may suffer from the same exposure as Chrome.

It’s a good rule of internet security to keep your browsers up-to-date especially when a security patch comes out!

Notice that I did not bore you with the intricate details of the vulnerability. I don’t think the information is necessary for the average user. When it comes to updates and security patches, it is almost always a good idea to keep your software up-to-date! This versus upgrading to a new version of the software. Then you may want to wait a little until you hear/feel that the maker has worked out any initial bugs.
