Monday Morning Humor (Flashback):  πŸ‘Ύ What happened to Apple & IBM competitor, the Atari 1200 XL? πŸ‘Ύ

The Atari 1200XL was its answer to Apple and IBM’s home computer market in the early 80’s.

Do you remember when the Atari 2600 was the hit gaming system in the very early 80's thanks to Space Invaders?  As home computers were an emerging market, Atari launched the 1200XL to compete with Apple and IBM desktops.  Unfortunately for Atari, the 1200XL did not sell as well as expected due to several factors, including its higher price point, compatibility issues with some software designed for its predecessor, and the crash of the video game industry in the mid-1980s. As a result, production of the Atari 1200XL was discontinued in 1984.

Yes, I had a console as a kid! I had combat, space invaders and more! πŸ‘ΎπŸ‘ΎπŸ‘ΎπŸ‘ΎπŸ‘Ύ

Atari never made a comeback into the home computer market.  But the commercial brings me back to a time when we wanted computers to do much more than they could actually do. And as we've made leaps in computer technology over the last forty years, these computers seem less powerful than a modern-day smartwatch! πŸ™ƒ

I could never imagine trying to run a solo or small law practice on one of these devices!
